In 2020, MacSteel partnered with CAN/SA in one of their fundraising events in order to sustain the Holistic Care & Support it provides to those affected by cancer. CAN/SA is committed to connecting people facing cancer with information, day-to-day help as well as the emotional support that they need in the communities where they live. Their aim is to ensure that cancer Survivors and their loved ones don’t have to face cancer alone by providing them with support through each step of their journey.
On the 7th and 8th of March 2020, three teams from TRD PFF representing MacSteel Cares took part in the CAN/SA Relay for Life. The family fun-filled event is filled with a series of laps around a racetrack that honor cancer survivors and caregivers as well as bond the community through music, food, contests and games to take part in – all whilst raising funds for their cancer education programs, cancer screening programs and their care and support initiatives.
Two of the three teams were sponsored by MacSteel Cares from Reiger Park Cancer Support Group, founded by our very own Lawrence Kelmowitz (group leader) and the third team comprised of our very own TRD-PFF staff members.
